Why Dentistry?
I have always been fascinated by the beauty of smiles. I thought to myself, what better profession than dentistry? I want to be able to provide dental care to those who can't afford it. My dream is to be able to volunteer for the World Dental Relief, which is like Doctors without borders but for dentists.
What made you join Pre-Dental Society?
In high school, I didn't really participate much in clubs, and I wanted to change that in college. At the OPERS fall fest, I searched EVERYWHERE for a pre-dental club, stumbling upon the pre-opt club, pre-med club, etc. Eventually I lost hope and went back to my room. Later that day, my friend Michelle Nguyen asked me if I was going to join the pre-dental club and I was like what? THERE'S A PRE-DENTAL CLUB? I guess part of the reason I joined the Pre-Dental Society is because of Michelle! I also joined because I wanted to get more information about what I could do to prepare for dental school and get exposed to the field of dentistry through volunteer opportunities.
Your favorite motto or advice to other Pre-Dents?
"To love is to serve" As a Catholic, I was taught to love one another. I believe that I can love through service. I always strive to help those in need.
