1) What is your role in Pre-Dental Society? What are your duties?
I am the historian! I work with the web designer to document the club's participation in events and outreach in the community. 2) Tell us about yourself I am originally from the Bay Area and am 20 years young. I love science, I have always been curious about the way the world works since I was very little. My grandpa instilled it in me. In the age that we live in, new technology and scientific break through is happening everyday and I am constantly blown away by it. I love music. Hip hop in particular influences me heavily and I like to make songs and write lyrics all the time. It is what I do to release stress and ponder about the world. One day I want to perform. 3) Why Dentistry? At this point you are wondering where dentistry fits into all this. Growing up I had a feeling that I would go into medicine of some sort. This is after of course that I thought I would be an NFL player. My grandparents were both doctors in the Soviet Union and my mom is a nurse so health and medicine came naturally to me. My dentist that I have been going to since birth has had a huge influence on me. As I grew and matured I started noticing her strive for excellence, her relationship with patients, and her satisfaction in helping people. Dentistry is a profession in which you can truly change the life of a person. You can enhance a person's confidence by giving them a better smile. By enhancing a person' confidence you are potentially changing their emotional state for the better. Healthy emotional state translates healthy physical state. That feeling of helping a person is very rewarding. Another thing that drew me to dentistry is that fact that technology in the field is become more advanced every single year. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to generate parts of the mouth (such as teeth and bone) by the use of stem cells. 4) Your favorite motto or advice to other Pre-Dents? My motto... study hardest, have fun enough to be happy :) |
